Where I'm From
by Ghali Oudghiri
Where I'm from I can see
Traffic all over the city
Like a twisted snake
Destroying everything
Where I"m from I see
Homeless people asking for money
I see construction in many places
People like ants making stuff for their queen
Where I'm from I feel my soft bed every day
When my mom wakes me up for school
And I smell the air - polluted but mostly fresh
I taste the couscous every Friday
Where I'm from I am like a baby bird
Waiting for my mother to bring me food
Where I'm from I am a baby bird
Not wanting to leave my nest
